We’re stepping into summer with a new way of bringing businesses together and doing what we love best – going for a stroll in the Great Outdoors, of course!
Yesterday saw the launch of our ‘netwalking’ events in aid of City Hospice, a wonderful organisation caring for patients and their families in and around Cardiff. We’ve taken on City Hospice as our charity of the year, becoming a Platinum Pledge partner to raise as much as we can for them over the next 12 months. Our first walk was a gentle stroll in the stunning Fforest Fawr around Castell Coch, where 10 lovely businesses came along, made new connections and benefited from being in nature at the end of the working day.
Chatterbox director Rebecca Lees said: “We are delighted to sign up to City Hospice’s Platinum Pledge as the team does so much amazing work for patients with incurable illnesses and their families. We wanted to come up with a fundraising idea that we’d really enjoy and that other businesses would want to get involved with and, of course, we decided that walking had to be involved!
“Our first walk went really well, with a good mix of businesses from a range of sectors coming along and enjoying a short ramble through the lovely Animal Sculpture Trail in the woods at Castell Coch. The rain just about held off too! We’ve had lots of interest from other businesses and are looking forward to a monthly walk from September, the next one being a slightly more strenuous climb to the top of the Garth.”
